Provisional drivers insurance
Learning to drive is one of the most important events in most young person's lives and as soon as they turn 17 they are keen to get behind the wheel.
Conversely, many parents are reluctant to allow their offspring to practice in their cars because of:
- The cost of the insurance
- The worry that their No Claims Bonus could be at risk
You may now purchase a separate insurance policy in the name of the learner driver
Driving Lessons and Practice
The Driving Standard Agency recommends a minimum of 42 hours driving tuition before taking the practical driving test.
Some of this can be with a family member or friend in his or her own car. In fact, the more practice that a driver can have the better it is.
Driving lessons alone are not sufficient and additional practice is essential, the more practice the better and the safer the driver is likely to be.
The policy
The policy will be in the name of the young driver, and any claim arising will not affect their parent's policy or No Claims Bonus.
Cars up to insurance group 16 on the ABI rating system can be cover at the fixed rate shown below.
The Initial Period
The initial period of cover is for 28 days at a cost of £72.50 and thereafter the policy can be extended either on a 7 or 28 day basis.
Renewals Discount
We have negotiated a discount with the insurance company of £20.00 for each subsequent 28 day period for all introductions through Young Marmalade, therefore instead of paying £72.50 for an additional 28 days you will only pay £52.50
